My name is Alicia.
I keep a journal and I write on it every single day; sometimes a line or two some other days an entire book.
I meditate on a daily basis, I am a spirit junkie and a huge Gabby Bernstein fan.
Going to a bookstore is the closest way to get to paradise for me. And reading a really good book is heaven on earth.
I think that the sizzling sound of the pan is the best melody ever and the smell of melting butter can take me down to my knees.
I love simple food made with real ingredients and tons of love.
I believe that there are no coincidences in life and that everything happens for a reason.
I fall in love with the kitchen every single day. I continually question myself after a 13 hour shift, with no weekends off, physically and mentally exhausted about whether or not becoming a Chef is really worth it. And every single day I come to the same conclusion: there is nothing that lights up my heart on fire like it. nothing.
I love life as much as I love food and I intend to make my stay on this world as worthy as possible, I like to live my days as if they were the last ones. I love deeply and live passionately.
I have worked at many restaurants, cooked thousands of meals, read almost every cookbook out there and took photos of too many things, persons and meals some of them of them good others not so much.
My life seems pretty ordinary but my mind is not. I consider myself a rebel, a dreamer, a rule breaker and free thinker.
I could write the longest ‘about me’ page with the story of life (but that just seems pretty ordinary). Instead I intend to share my story through the food I make, the books I read, the places I visit and the photos I take.
This blog intends to do just that.
